The reward for finding a geocache is the smiley face. When looking at your progress on a map, you will see them wherever you have uncovered found cache. However, the smiley near this cache is special because the head is roughly 80 feet in diameter! In fact, this is arguably one of the largest smileys in Rhode Island. It may not be apparent from the cache, though you can see parts of the smile, but it is obvious when looking at a satellite image of the immediate area. I first scoped this spot many years ago when my family first started geocaching. Now it is time to give this spot the cache it deserves. This cache is placed along a dirt road immediately East of the Rolling Greens Golf Course. The road has a gate that is always open. There are signs saying No Trespassing on either sign of the gate, but this is a public road owned by the Town of North Kingstown. In fact there is another cache along this same road. The No trespassing sign is for the Naragansett Bow Hunters Club at the end of the road. The road is single laned, with a turnaround shortly after the cache at the Bow Hunters Club parking area. Be careful not to continue past the water tank into the Bow Hunters Target shooting area. The cache is not hidden within the fenced in area near the coordinates. There is a stonewall in the area, but there is no need to move any stones. You are looking for a standard ammo box filled with goodies along the
theme. Take what you like.
Congratulations to StewJ for the First to Find!
This is optional, but when you find the cache, be sure and post a picture of you and your fellow cachers (human, canine, feline or otherwise) with the biggest smiles you can muster.
