MOE-GT #16: Hometown Heros
Category: Marion's Murals
Welcome to Palatine Park, a hidden gem nestled along the banks of the Monongahela River. This cache will bring you to a scenic overlook of the river as well as showcase five legends of Marion County. (There is an earthcache here too that you won't want to miss!) On the mural, you'll find depictions of Johnnie Johnson, Col. George S. “Spanky” Roberts, Julia Pierpont, “Aunt Hat” Wilson (Harriet, Hattie, Little Hat Wilson Whitely), and West Virginia coal miner. These individuals all played an instrumental part in the county's history.

TO FIND THIS CACHE you will need to first visit the mural and answer some questions to obtain the three-digit lock combination (XYZ) for the final container. The cache and logbook are located only a few feet away from the mural, hidden out of sight of muggles, but this park sees a lot of activity, especially in the summer. Please relock the cache exactly as you found it.
LOCK COMBINATION
X = How many hometown heroes are shown in the mural?
YZ = How many stars (in part or in full) are located on the mural?
FIND THE CACHE
After answering the above questions, use the riddle below to locate the final container.
The final is not too far, just look around. Face the bridge and seek something yellow. A lone tree and wooden kiosk hide the prize.
