MOE-GT #17: Downtown
Category: Marion's Murals

Welcome to downtown Fairmont - the Friendly City! This area is filled with vibrant community, art, and businesses, all of which you'll get to enjoy while completing this three stage letterbox. The first stage will bring you to a mural celebrating the Feast of the Seven Fishes, a graphic novel published in 2005 by Marion County native Robert “Bob” Tinnel based on his experiences of growing up in an Italian-American family, specifically the Christmas Eve tradition of the same name that consists of a meatless meal with several seafood courses. From here, you'll get to explore a special stop and solve a puzzle using the mural at stage 2. Please carefully follow all instructions, as this cache might be trickier than others on the tour. We hope you enjoy this short tour of downtown Fairmont.

TO FIND THIS CACHE you will need to visit two murals located in Downtown Fairmont to locate the final and unlock the container. Your journey starts at the posted coordinates: the Feast of the Seven Fishes mural. After admiring the fine detail, take a look to your left. Three doors down you'll see a black awning with a glass storefront display. Near the entrance to this local shop, you will see two buttons on the right wall. Press them to recieve a special message.

Next, make your way to the parking coordinates for stage 2. I personally recommend walking, as it is a one-way road, but there is ample parking if you chose to make this a park and grab. Here you'll see another mural. Use the following diagram to divide the mural into four quadrants as shown. Using the information found at stage 1, locate the 3 three stickers and take note of their corresponding quadrant. This will be your three digit lock combination.

Finally, enter your three digit number into the certitude below to get access to the final coordinates. It's there you can sign the log and retrieve the stamp for your passport. Please replace everything exactly as you found it.
