Welcome to the Taconic Winter Series at the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail. This 'series' is designed to get you off the couch and out on the trail.
Where have all the birds gone? Many have gone south for the winter. The colorful warblers that come through the area in the spring are all down south for the winter. But in their place we have other species that have come south to NY from their northern breeding areas. This time of year you may find Dark-eyed Juncos along the trail. These small gray birds with white bellies like to forage at the edge of the trail (or roadsides).
You are looking for a two stage multi cache. Good luck - and stay warm!
