S45 Station Gersthof
[Deutsch] Die Station Gersthof befindet sich im 18. Gemeindebezirk Wiens. Sie ist auch unweit vom Türkenschanzpark entfernt.
Die Linie S45 wird auch als "Vorortelinie" bezeichnet und stellt eine West-Nord-Spange im wiener S-Bahn-Netz dar. Die Bezirke 14, 16, 17,18,19 und 20 werden von ihr verkehrstechnisch versorgt.
Die Vorortelinie ist eine Nebenbahn in Wien und führt vom Bahnhof Hütteldorf an der Westbahn zum Bahnhof Heiligenstadt an der Franz-Josefs-Bahn. Sie wird von der auch im aktuellen ÖBB-Fahrplan Vorortelinie genannten S-Bahn-Linie S45 befahren, die in Heiligenstadt auf die Donauuferbahn übergeht und auf ihr bis zur Station Handelskai verkehrt.
Mit dem Bau der österreichischen Nordwestbahn (ab 1870) sowie deren Wiener Kopfbahnhof wurde eine Verbindung Nordwestbahn – Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Bahn – Verbindungsbahn (1861) ausführungsreif. Dieses Projekt sollte nach Fertigstellung eine über den Westen Wiens führende Spange zwischen Nordwest-, West- sowie Südbahnhof bilden.
Am 11. Mai 1898 wurde die Strecke Hütteldorf–Heiligenstadt als Teil der vom Architekten Otto Wagner architektonisch gestalteten und vom k.k. Eisenbahnministerium für die k.k. Staatsbahnen errichteten Wiener Stadtbahn eröffnet. Die Vorortelinie war bei der Eröffnung eingleisig; das zweite Gleis wurde 1899 gelegt. Seit 1987 ist die Strecke als Linie S45 in das Netz der Wiener S-Bahn eingegliedert. 1996 wurde die S45 auf bestehenden Gleisen bis zur Station Handelskai an der Donauuferbahn verlängert. Eine Erweiterung von Handelskai bis Praterkai könnte ab 2032 in Betrieb gehen, und bis voraussichtlich 2040 wäre auch eine Ringschnellbahn (mit Anbindung der derzeitigen S80) möglich. Von der Station Gersthof zum Cache sind es ca. 60 Meter. Die Züge verkehren in 10 Minuten Intervallen (tagsüber) bis 15 Minuten Intervallen (abends und Feiertage).
[English] Gersthof station is in Vienna's 18th district and is located not far from Türkenschanzpark.
The S45 Schnellbahn line known as the "Vorortelinie" (suburban line) services the west and north of Vienna's Schnellbahn network. It connects the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th districts.
The Vorortelinie is a branch line in Vienna and runs from Hütteldorf station on the Westbahn to Heiligenstadt station on the Franz-Josefs-Bahn. It is served by the S-Bahn line S45, which is also called the Vorortelinie in the current ÖBB timetable and which joins the Donauuferbahn in Heiligenstadt and runs on it to Handelskai station.
With the construction of the Austrian Nordwestbahn (from 1870) and its Vienna terminus, a connection between the Nordwestbahn - Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Bahn - Verbindungsbahn (1861) was ready for implementation. Once completed, this project was to form a link between the north-west, west and south railway stations across the west of Vienna.
On 11 May 1898, the Hütteldorf-Heiligenstadt line was opened as part of the railway designed by architect Otto Wagner and commissioned by the Imperial-Royal Ministry of Railways for the Imperial-Royal Railway Company. Railway Ministry for the k.k. State Railways. The suburban line was single-track when it opened; the second track was laid in 1899. Since 1987, the line has been integrated into the Vienna S-Bahn network as line S45. In 1996, the S45 was extended on existing tracks to Handelskai station on the Danube embankment railway. It is planned to extend the line from Handelskai to Praterkai from around 2032, with the possibility of a Ring line (using the route of the S80) possible by 2040.
It is about 60 metres from Gersthof station to the cache. Trains run at 10-minute intervals (during the day) to 15-minute intervals (evenings and public holidays).
