STEEL GATES
This is a “Multi” Style Cache, and so, as in most of that style type, the cache is NOT at the “Given” coordinates. Option: A geocacher with decent geo-senses might be able to skip the math to obtain the final’s location (NoGPS style).
To locate the Final stage of the cache in a “traditional manner” (by first doing a tiny little bit of easy math), you will first need to observe the short blue UNAUTHORIZED themed sign while standing near the given coordinates. You will use some digits from this sign in your North and West offset calculations.
NORTH OFFSET:
Observe on the sign, a row of contact information for several government entities. Add together the three last digits from the third entity’s contact information (the entity that starts with SH).
That sum is your North Offset.
NORTH FINAL:
ADD the North Offset to the decimal minutes (.xxx) of the North Given coordinates to obtain your North Final Coordinates.
WEST OFFSET:
Multiply the North Offset by zero, this is your West Offset.
Or to put it another way: North Offset x 0 = West Offset
WEST FINAL:
ADD, or SUBTRACT the West Offset from the decimal minutes (.xxx) of the West Given coordinates to obtain your West Final Coordinates.
