DIRECTIONS: Ambler Way (Cross Road) recently reverted to a walking path so you cannot drive to cache location. APPROACH FROM BOUTONVILLE ROAD ONLY. Do not stop on Route 124 (Salem Road); it is a busy and dangerous road.
Welcome to the lost village of Boutonville. Once a thriving hamlet, Boutonville’s celebrated taverns, school houses, and mills have long since disappeared or become hidden relics. You stand above one of these relics now, the Stevens Grist Mill. The mill was operated by Revolutionary War veteran Sylvanus Stevens. Stevens lived in the historic house across Boutonville Road to your north. Look closely and you'll see the mill's foundations as well as abandoned ironworks that were added during a mid-nineteenth century update.
If parking, please be courteous.
