Geocache Description:

Greetings Geo-Agent,

"Cryptozoology: The study of unknown animals, often legendary or folkloric creatures, about which there is limited or no definitive proof of their existence. These beings and creatures are not currently recognized by mainstream science."

Since our inception, the Men In Black have not only acted as Ambassadors to Extraterrestrial Entities but also those that are commonly refered to as "Cryptozoological" species here on Earth. To maintain peace and order, numerous treaties have been drafted with various species of this nature. In exchange for distancing themselves from humanity, our agency has provided safety, environmental resource protection, and security via a very successful media-control program that automatically degrades the credibility of any human witness of a Cryptozoological Species. In fact, the latter program has been so successful that most human/crypto interactions go unreported due to witnesses not wishing to risk public humiliation. Many even convince themselves that they did not actually see anything without further coercion or mind-wiping even necessary!

This time around the M.I.B. are hoping to utilize your Canadian experience to help avoid an unauthorized cryptozoological incident involving a "Tornit".

Similar in description to the well-known Yetis of the Himalayan Mountains, these beings are less concerned with Human Awareness than their international counterparts due to a legendary cohabitation of lands with Northern Inuit people. This particular Tornit seems to have gone AWOL from his clan and must return before he is discovered.

Surprisingly, it appears that the suspect Tornit has anticipated our involvement and is possibly attempting to dissuade us from our pursuit. Our office received a message from the Tornit on Birch Bark delivered by an Owl but we have not been able to translate it as of yet. The Tornit language is presently incomprehensible to us but hopefully, being Canadian, you may be able to break this down for clues and help us return this unauthorized traveller.

You would be wise to remember that the Tornit are peaceful but can be difficult when they feel their personal freedoms are being infringed upon. Approach this being with caution if you should discover its location.

A copy of the correspondence which flew into our Offices is included below.

Good Luck Geo-Agent
