Trullo, plurale Trulli, è un nome per le case rotonde presenti soprattutto in Puglia, i cui tetti di pietra si assottigliano verso l’alto in una volta a spiompio (la cosiddetta „volta falsa“) e sono chiusi con una chiave di volta simbolica, lo Zippus, ma spesso anche con una sfera o un altro simbolo.
Nel 17.secolo, queste case iniziarono a essere costruite per conto del conte Giangirolamo II Acquaviva d’Aragona. Poiché non voleva pagare le tasse al governo, chiese ai contadini di costruire le loro case senza cemento e malta solo di pietre. In questo modo, in caso di ispezione reale, potevano facilmente smantellare le case di pietra e poi ricostruirle facilmente.

Trullo, plural Trulli, is a name for the round houses found mainly in Apulia, whose stone roofs taper upwards in a slated vault (so-called „false vault“) and are concluded with a symbolic keystone, the Zippus, but often also with a ball or another symbol.
In the 17th century, these houses began to be built on behalf of Count Giangirolamo II. Acquaviva d’Aragona. Since he did not want to pay taxes to the government, he demanded that the farmers build their houses without cement and mortar only from stones. In this way, in the event of a royal inspection, they could easily dismantle the stone houses and later easily rebuild them.

Trullo, Mehrzahl Trulli, ist eine Bezeichnung für die vor allem in Apulien vorkommenden Rundhäuser, deren Steindächer sich nach oben hin in einem Kraggewölbe (sogenanntes „falsches Gewölbe“) verjüngen und mit einem symbolischen Schlussstein, dem Zippus, oft aber auch mit einer Kugel oder einem anderen Symbol, abgeschlossen werden.
Im 17. Jahrhundert begann man diese Häuser im Auftrag des Grafen Giangirolamo II. Acquaviva d’Aragona zu bauen. Da dieser keine Steuern an die Regierung zahlen wollte, forderte er von den Bauern, ihre Häuser ohne Zement und Mörtel nur aus Steinen zu bauen. So konnten sie im Falle einer königlichen Inspektion die Steinhäuser ganz einfach abbauen und später leicht wiedererrichten.
