XL blackberry patch - An Equinox CITO
I know, you're confused... A different site, a different project... We'll be working with a new friend with purpose - Web of Life, inconjunction with the City of Port Coquitlam to reclaim this portion of the trail. We'll be cutting down (only!) Himalayan blackberry brambles and Scotch broom. No digging out of roots required. Garbage collection along this route will also be very much a task... And we'lI have a "arts and crafts table" set up where you can make up mason bee nesting boxes too! I have a limited amount of Dollarama work gloves and pruners. If you have something stronger to use, please bring them by... Web of Life voluntarily works to clean up old homesteads, abandonned homeless camps, or any site that they see and want to reclaim from human interference. They clean up, remove invasives, place masonbee nests, replant and leave wildlife seeds and natural pine cones to reseed the areas. I hope to partner with them on various CITO projects! I foresee a few work parties at this site.
