かつて松尾芭蕉は元禄2年3月27日、この地から長い旅を始めました。
日本人の多くが知っているであろう「おくのほそ道」はこの地からはじまっています。

またここには千住大橋が架かっています。橋の下には、かつて木道橋だった時の支柱の面影を見ることができます。

キャッシュは船が着いたであろう場所の近くに設置しています。
