After living in the area many years and always curious about this side of 35 on the river, I was finally inspired to check it out after an eagle's nest that had been the home for a pair of eagles for many, many years blew down in the horrible wind storms in 2024. Still took a while to make the trek to teh area as this area is very wooded and wasn't sure there were any paths. I wanted to see if I could find the old nest, which I didn't but I found where the eagles moved nearby. This area has very few caches probably due to the fact its in a flood plain and can be underwater in the Spring. Can't imagine coming here in the summer with the bugs but it is awesome to hike here fall --> spring when the weather is right and there isn't much snow like this year. Easiest to walk from the Crosby Park parking lot but there is now a road to the river they used for the new sewer lines.
