Located in the beautiful Cameron Park, this cache can be found after a short hike down the trail. Available nearby are parking, restrooms, and a pavillion, perfect for an picnic with the family or a fun day of hiking!

One damp and blustery night, a band of pirates drifted down the Brazos is search of treasure. There were rumors that great wealth was to be found on the banks of the Brazos. It was told that an old pirate captain, long since sailed on, had left a large sum of cash hidden somewhere in the dense undergrowth. The pirates searched intently throughout the night, straining their eyes for the treasure as they rowed up and down the river. To their dismay, nothing was to be found and all hope seemed lost of ever finding it. Dawn began to break and the pirate crew pulled to shore in defeat, aching with hunger after their long night of searching in vain. Spirits dampened, they set up camp, using a nearby boulder as a table for their breakfast. One rather scrawny pirate named Sprout who had gobbled his food up the fastest, leaned back looking about their surroundings. Upon doing so, his eyes caught a glimpse of metal in the undergrowth. Could it be? Could it be the safe left by the old pirate captain containing the treasure??? He jumped up in delight, shouting to the rest of the crew about his findings. Scrambling up the short incline, he reached into the dense bamboo, scraping off the fallen leaves and found an ammo can! This must be what held the cash that was said to be hidden! He pried open the box, revealing-
but what was this? There was no riches, no cash, just little trinkets and an old sheet of paper with names scrawled upon it. What could this be? Where was the treasure? He read the words that had been printed and taped to the lid of the box. "Geocache." he repeated to the rest of the crew in confusion "What's a Geo.... cache..."
Now they understood, the hidden treasure that had been talked about was not stacks of cash as they had thought, it was this thing called a Geocache! Their disappointment in not finding riches quickly vanished as they discovered that they had found something even greater! Adventure!!! With jubilation they returned to their ship, eager to find more of these caches! The adventure had just begun!

There is a foot path leading down to the cache location. Be carful of ants who like to live in the tree's root systems!
