Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Geo-knot for FTF!!!

Welcome to the third Geocaching Library Book of our series! We got this idea from another library book cache that we found in a free library and had the idea of putting books in public libraries. In order to find this book you will visit the posted coordinates in order to solve a math problem. Once you have solved the problem you will be able to determine the call number of the book that is directly next to our Library Book Cache that has no call number on it. The call number that you will solve for will be located in the Adult Non-fiction section on the second floor. You can solve this mystery when the library is not open but you will need to visit the library when it is open to sign the log. You may not claim this cache without signing the log please. When arriving at the posted coordinates, you will be searching for a four digit number on a wall nearby (ABCD). The last three digits of the posted North coordinates (EFG) and the last three digits of the posted West coordinates (XYZ) are the other numbers you will need.

ABCD - EFG - XYZ - 123= the call number

You can use the certitude link to check your solution.

About this Library:

The Ipswich Public Library owes its beginnings in 1869 to two nineteenth century Ipswich benefactors–Augustine Heard, a China trader, and Daniel Treadwell, a professor of applied sciences at Harvard College. Augustine Heard bought the site for the library, paid for its building, and left funds in trust to pay its operating expenses. His friend Daniel Treadwell , who had long shared his ambition to establish a free library in Ipswich, left $22,000 at his death–then a significant sum–to add to the library’s funds.

The Library was privately run using these and other gifts along the way until 1974, when the Town of Ipswich took over the responsibility. The Library now operates as a separate town department with its own budget, and is supervised by a Library Director under the guidance of the Town Manager (under the Town Manager form of government) and the Library Board of Trustees.
