Four miles South of US 41 on M 95. In the spring of 1986 a wind storm felled a tree on to some powers lines and the Granite Lake Fire (3/4 miles SouthWeast) was born. Taking many trees with it. Early summer 2000 a careless campfire ignited the Tower Lake Fire (Two miles SouthEast) A bad one it was and most trees that survived the 86 fire were lost. Save for this one on it's high rocky outcrop.
