Cache placed for Hudson Hot Air Affair 2025. This year's HHAA theme is "Staying Alive in 2025". Watch for muggles. I hid this around 6 pm, after dark, and was startled by the whizzing sound of bicycle tires going by...pretty sure he wondered what I was up to!
When hot air balloons are getting ready to land, they actually have to ask for permission from the land owners. I once was in a balloon that requested permission to land in the parking lot of the Hudson Jail!
There is a tradition carried over from the original French balloonists of offering a bottle of champagne to the landowner. My parents were the recipients of such an offering once.
