Waco Lake Hike and Bike Trail
The Waco Lake Hike and Bike Trail runs from 2.8 miles through the city of Waco, Texas largely alongside Lake Waco. The trail takes users over the Waco Dam and through Airport Beach Park, located near the airport.
About the Route
With the exception of a short sloped section near the Lakeshore Drive trailhead, the Waco Lake Hike and Bike Trail is very flat. The trail is 10ft wide and paved with concrete.For the entire route, trail users will be surrounded on one side by the lake and grassy hills on the opposite side. The trail also consists of long straight sections that ride on top of the earthen berm.
A highlight of the trail is passing over the Waco Dam, especially if water is being released from the lake and running down the spillway into the Bosque River. Trail users should note that there is little to no shade cover along the trail.
