Geocache Description:

NOTE FOR SEARCHERS AT END OF DESCRIPTION

This cache is part of my “River Nile” series. If you want THAT to make sense, you need to read the description for “Sauce of the Nile” (GCB2PFQ)

There will be a Bonus Cache associated with this series. The information needed to locate the cache can be found on the logs of selected caches on the Oran Park side of Camden Valley Way. This section of the series is still being completed.

Unfortunately, not all of South Creek has features that reflect something significant about the River Nile. So some caches are a little more “generic” than others. These are named for a colour variation of blue (as this one is … ie, part of the Blue Nile) or white, or for a significant pharaoh in the history of Egypt, or (in a couple of instances) some other well-known feature of that river.

The Blue Nile’s fluctuation in water volume over the year means that, while only delivering a small proportion of the total flow carried through the Egypt for much of the year, in August/September the Blue Nile’s massive increase sees it accounting for approximately 90% of the combined flow of the two rivers. This large annual increase in flow has resulted in annual flooding of Egypt down the centuries, and the sediment deposited by these floods has been the basis of Egypt’s remarkable agricultural productivity.

This cache is quite close to the notional “source” of this arm of South Creek, "The Unfurling”. This can be seen from GZ.

You will notice that a fair bit of the foliage here is getting a bit dry ... which also means brittle. If you feel the need to move it around, please do it gently, and replace as you found it.

"Have a cofeee, buy the miiilk, get the petrolll, get the FTe-e-e-e-F ..." All part of doin' it easy in the Southwest. A relaxed win for Laimelde on this one. Congrats!
