Geocache Description:

SEARCHERS' NOTE AT END OF DESCRIPTION

This cache is part of my “River Nile” series. If you want THAT to make sense, you need to read the description for “Sauce of the Nile” (GCB2PFQ).

There will be a Bonus Cache associated with this series. The information needed to locate the cache can be found on the logs of selected caches on the Oran Park side of Camden Valley Way. This section of the series is still being completed.

Unfortunately, not all of South Creek has features that reflect something significant about the River Nile. So some caches are a little more “generic” than others. These are named for a colour variation of blue (as this one is … ie, part of the Blue Nile) or white, or of a significant pharaoh in the history of Egypt, or in a couple of cases, some other significant feature of that river.

The Blue Nile gets its name from the heavy silt it carries. This is a result of the erosion that occurs further upriver during the summer monsoon season. Its origin is in the highlands of Ethiopia, and it is the shorter of the two rivers.

TOURIST NOTE ... Nothing to do with the Nile River, or South Creek. During the Covid Pandemic, someone started a small "Fairy Garden" just over the bridge to your left (from GZ). Little girls' fairy toys were used. (In the spirit of 'Teddy Bears in Windows' at the same time. ... you'd forgotten those, hadn't you?) Though the weather took its toll on the original inhabitants of the glade, others (or the same folks) have kept the spirit of the thing going with replacements and a recent refurbishment of the spot. It probably won't last beyond the first lot of idiot teenagers who come along, but at the time of posting, is still a little corner of cuteness in the place)

Looks like the Captain Hooked another one! Congratulations to the piratical crew of Jaybeem and First Mate Jaybee001 on adding to their FTF hoard.

SEARCHERS' NOTE. GZ is well obscured from houses but in clear view of path. If vigilant though, you will see walkers coming well before they are aware of you. Have your song 'n dance act, stand-up comedy routine, poetry recitation, or (ho-hum) intensely examining your mobile phone ... anything that doesn't give away the fact that you're searching for a cache.

Be sure to roll log tight and place in lid of cache first, not body.

Jaybeem! and Jaybee01 looking good again for another FTF.
