Bryngwyn was the final station stop for passenger traffic on the Bryngwyn Branch of the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway. Today, only subtle clues in the landscape remain, including the foundations of the station house viewable from GZ. Originally, it would have been very similar to the restored station house at Tryfan Junction on the modern WHR.
The station was not built with passenger use in mind, as it was a fair distance from any village, but was the last point on the line before slate carts were hauled up an incline to the quarries and served the smaller built up areas at Carmel and Fron. Passenger services ceased in 1914, and the station closed entirely in 1938 along with the rest of the line.
While restoration is unlikely in the near future, the trackbed is owned by the Ffestiniog Railway Co. and could one day be redeveloped.
