Welcome to Cache Across Maryland 2025. This is one of the caches placed for the 2025 Cache Across Maryland. Each location was picked specifically to give geocachers a taste of the state and show you its beauty. By combining all ten, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly "America in Miniature". We hope you enjoy them! You must find a minimum of ten caches prior to the picnic held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in order to receive a free Maryland Geocaching Society CAM geocoin.
Make note of the code word found inside each cache container. You must enter all the words into an online decoder in order to print a claim form to print and submit to receive your geocoin at the picnic, as well as your CAM certificate. More info on CAM is available HERE.

Seneca Creek State Park, comprised of 6,300 acres, extends along 14 scenic miles of Seneca Creek, as it winds its way to the Potomac River. The Clopper Day-Use Area contains many scenic areas, including the 90-acre Clopper Lake, surrounded by forests and fields. Picnicking, boat rentals, and trails are just some of its recreational opportunities. A restored 19th century cabin and a self-guided path interpret the history of the area. Over 50 miles of trails are open for hiking, horseback riding and bicycling which wind through a variety of habitat.
Clopper Lake
The developed portion of the state park centers on 90-acre Clopper Lake and the Clopper Lake Day Use Area (CLDUA) which is bounded by Clopper Road to the north, Longdraft Road to the east, Great Seneca Highway to the south and Riffleford Road to the west. Clopper Lake averages a depth of 18 feet, has shallow enclaves, is stocked with largemouth bass, tiger muskie, channel catfish, sunfish, bluegill and pumpkinseed sunfish, and allows boating.

Trail
The park contains 50 miles of trails, some in the CLDUA, and 12 miles in the Schaeffer Farm Trails Area. Trails are used for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing. The Lake Shore Trail loops around Clopper Lake. The Seneca Creek Bluffs Trail is a 7.5 miles natural surface trail between Black Rock Mill, Darnestown Road, Poole's General Store and the C&O Canal. The Seneca Ridge Trail is a 5.8 miles natural surface trail in the upland areas on the south bank of Seneca Creeek. It provides a connection between Clopper Lake and Schaeffer Farm and is usable for hiking, trail running and biking.

The cache you seek is tucked under a fallen log, covered with sticks. Please hide as found or better.
