in our disclaimer.
A short moderate scramble of less than 0.4 mile on Sycamore Cove
Loop Trail in Pisgah National Forest.
Although a loop there are two trailheads for Sycamore Cove Loop
Trail. The closest trailhead for this cache is across the road and
a little south east at a paved pull off on US-276 at coordinates
N35 16.783 W082 42.829 . To reach the cache you will have a
moderate steady climb of less than 0.4 mile from the parking
coordinates. The cache container is a 6" square plastic box, and is
hidden in an open root system of a living tree. It is about 10' to
the right, and slightly uphill of the trail. The container has a
rather tight-fitting snap-on lid, so PLEASE take the time to be
sure the lid is completely resealed, and please rehide it well so
it doesn't go missing again. Thanks!)
The pictures provided along with the clue will almost assure your
success. The cache is in a fairly open area and the coordinates
should be good summer or winter.
If you continue your hike you can be rewarded by a second cache
placed by Hell Geezers “bcut”, “ Sycamore Cove
Roundabout” approximately 1.6 miles past this cache. We
measured 4.02 miles for the loop and return back to the car. This
trail is designated as moderate.
Please remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than
we humans. Please do not place candy, food or any other scented
items such as soaps or candles in the cache, as animals often
mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container
trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is
not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy in the hunt. -
Thanks
