Aoyama Inari Shrine is located in the northern part of Kashiwazaki City, near the border of Karimura and the former Nishiyama Town.

An extravagant stone torii gate (1976) was erected at the entrance to the approach, but it was damaged in the Chuetsu-oki Earthquake on July 16, 2007.
青山稲荷神社は、柏崎市の北部、刈村と旧西山町の境界近くに座する。
「神社明細帳」（明治十六年）に「刈羽郡荒濱村字青山 無格社・稲荷社」
とある。
文禄四年（1595）の創立で、祭神は宇迦之魂命である。
固有の氏子は少ないが広範な崇敬を集めているという。
「明細帳」によれば、当社は明治四十五年（1912）に荒浜村字中町の諏訪社（現・諏訪神社）に合併されたが、昭和四十三年（1968），宮司はじめ関係者により宗教法人としての認可を得て独立した。
昭和五十一年（1976）の原子力発電所建設にともなって現在地に移転した
（1社地は発電所の敷地にある）。
参道の入り口に豪勢な石鳥居（1976年）が設けられていたが、2007年7月16日の中越沖地震により損壊した。
