NBWI Series - Lakeville Corner Chapter 18 Traditional Cache

Welcome to Lakeville Corner Women's Institute first in a series of caches to introduce you to the Federation of Women's Institute a non for profit organization with branches located across the world. NBWI was established in 1911 and there are currently 42 branches Province wide. This cache  is created to share with you the activities and goals that we do to help those in our community. This branch was established 08 November 1933. There are currently 18 members and we organize several activities to raise funds through out the year for various charities and other groups in our community.  Some of the groups we help are the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home, SPCA, War Memorial to name a few. We organize annual auctions online and live, craft and bake sales, bar-b-ques and new this year our first annual Chili Cookoff to benefit the Oromocto SPCA. We offer limited catering for community events, sell produce boxes at Christmas to raise funds. Our members work hard to provide for members especially the elderly when they require assistance. We gift them Christmas sweets and other items to let them know we are here for them. We donated gift bags to Men's and Women's shelters too.  We are a very proud group in our community and work tirelessly to help our community when needed. This is the first cache for the NBWI series and others will be put in place with more exciting information about this wonderful organization and what it stands for.
