MORETON BAY HINTERLAND LETTERBOX TRAIL
The Moreton Bay Hinterland Letterbox Trail is a series of caches placed by a local group of geocachers that will eventually see caches span the entire length of the D’Aguilar Highway. Some caches along this trail have been placed on peaceful back roads to enjoy the tranquillity of being in a semi-rural area.
This Letterbox Trail caches start at the little township of Wamuran in the Moreton Bay City Council area and continues through to another little township of Sandy Creek in the Somerset Region passing through little townships of D’Aguilar, Woodford, Stony Creek and Royston. It will take you over a day to complete. There are areas that may require a 4WD vehicle to access depending on the weather/seasonal conditions (4WD was required at time of placement), and some of the access roads are narrow, so please use caution when attempting. Some caches require you to walk in dense scrub please look at the attributes to know which ones these are. There is a Letterbox in this series for everyone.
The Moreton Bay Hinterland Letterbox Trail offers the local community and visitors to the area a special opportunity to explore our beautiful Moreton Bay Hinterland townships as well as the surroundings National Parks, State Forests and the Glass House Mountains

As a Letterbox Hybrid cache, you will find a logbook AND a Stamp. The stamp is not a trade item but intended to stay within the cache. Use it to stamp your own notebook, and stamp the logbook with your own personal stamp, OR alternatively, simply date and sign the logbook as you would normally do at any other geocache. Again, the stamp and logbook remain in the letterbox for the next visitor to use.

PLEASE NOTE: This highway gets EXTREMELY BUSY at times, and we ask that all geocachers remain safe when retrieving the caches in the Moreton Bay Hinterland Letterbox Trail. You could encounter some traffic along this trail we ask you to please take care as these have been placed along a busy highway. We have chosen ground zero locations reasonable access points and parking within 200 metres of most Ground Zero locations. Some locations are not accessible for Trucks, RV's and geocachers towing. (These will have the appropriate attributes). The road is bitumen for most of the trail but some of the back roads are dirt and speed limits are between 60kms per hour on the back roads and 80kms per hours on main highway, but the trail is in good condition and suitable for conventional cars. You will be walking through bushland (this means longer than normal grass in some areas), so you should wear appropriate attire.
