National Amaretto Day is celebrated on April 19 and is dedicated to one of the most popular Italian liqueurs - amaretto. This day is celebrated by lovers of this drink and connoisseurs of its unique taste, which combines sweet and bitter notes.
History of Amaretto
Amaretto (from the Italian "amaro" - "bitter") is a liqueur obtained from apricot kernels, almonds or other nuts. It has a sweet taste with a characteristic bitterness and aroma of nuts. It is based on distilled alcohol, which is then mixed with sugar and extracts, creating a rich and recognizable taste.
Origin. Legend has it that amaretto was invented in Italy in 1525, when the artist Raphael asked a local woman called Lucrezia to make a drink for his aging master. He asked her to make a drink that would be "bitter but sweet," and amaretto was born.
Amaretto and coffee is an Italian-inspired drink that combines hot coffee with amaretto liqueur, often topped with whipped cream. The almond-flavored amaretto balances the coffee's bitterness with sweetness and hints of apricot and toasted almond. It can be enjoyed as an after-dinner drink, dessert, or winter cocktail.

A Shot of Amaretto
In the corner of a cozy, dim-lit café, you discover an old recipe journal titled:
“Secrets of the Amaretto Underground”
Tucked inside are handwritten recipes, strange caffeine notes, and a final line:
"Find the blend, find the cache."
Step 1: The Amaretto Formula
One cocktail recipe reads:
“To craft the perfect Amaretto-Coffee blend, mix:”
3 parts Coffee
1 part Amaretto
3 parts Cream
0.5 parts Simple Syrup
0.5 parts Ice
The finished drink is 240 ml.
Solve for North:
A = Number of parts of Coffee
B = Number of parts of Amaretto
C = Cream in ml ÷ 10 = #
Then √#
D = Simple Syrup in ml ÷ 3
E = Number of letters in the word “Latte”
Step 2: The Coffee Cipher
On a napkin near the espresso machine is a note:
"Only the boldest brews will lead you home."
A list of drinks is scribbled underneath:
Espresso – 64 mg caffeine
Cold Brew – 155 mg caffeine
Mocha – 145 mg caffeine
Latte – 95 mg caffeine
Solve for West:
F = Number of drinks listed multiplied by zero.
G= Number of drinks with over 100 mg of caffeine
H = Number of letters in “Coffee” minus 1
J = Number of letters in “Cream”
K = Number of letters in “Amaretto” plus 1
