Twinning - Over the Pond
Wareham was first settled in 1678, by Europeans, as part of the towns of Plymouth and Rochester. It was officially incorporated in 1739, and named after the town of Wareham, UK. In October of 2024, Wareham, MA welcomed the mayor of Wareham, UK. Together, town officials gathered to present the mayor with a proclamation officially declaring the two towns as "twinning". The towns have made an agreement to promote travel and cultural exchanges between one another. Twinning is a wonderful way to build friendships across the world.
