There were orginally six Almshouses built in 1607, rebuilt in 1878 only three remain. These are red brick bungalows with yellow detailling and an engraved date stone. They have ornate brick arches and gable wings to each end. In the census of 1881, 6 widows lived here with a combined age of 472 years.
These are one of several groups of almshouses that have been provided from the late 19th to mid 20th Century in the borough.
They are situated on Loves Lane. Managed by LEAP Almshouses, they look quaint with well kept small gardens.
