On a hike in Big Basin with my main goal being the McAbee Overlook Nifty Ninety, a secondary goal was to place a few more caches. This turned out to be harder than I had thought, partly because I had neglected to download disabled caches. And good hiding places seemed to be harder to find in the redwoods. Ultimately this was the only viable cache I placed, a cache near the junction of the Dool and Skyline to the Sea trails.
Hide is la short hike from the main parking, probably less than 1 km. Park hours are 8am untiil sunset. Day parking fee is currently $10 or $8 with online advance reservation (recommended). You are looking for a small tupperware container within a few feet off the trail.
