About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view (although that is not far away). It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
Chingford Station
In 1878, the small station near the village green was replaced with the current Chingford station on the edge of town, which remains relatively unchanged. Although the station didn’t move far, the relocation was intended to encourage tourists to visit the nearby forest and the tracks were built to continue into the forest and beyond. However, in 1882 Queen Victoria visited Chingford by train and declared the forest open to the public forever. This meant that Chingford became the end of the line as no new development could carry on across the forest land.
Today, this is a major commuter line, with trains into the city taking less than 30 minutes. In fact, I commuted on this line for many years before I retired and can’t say I miss it

The cache is a micro and can be found a short walk from the station, there is no pen, so please make sure you bring one.
