Geocache Description:

DON'T ASSUME!!  SEE SEARCHER'S NOTE AT END OF DESCRIPTION

There will be a Bonus Cache associated with this series. The information needed to locate the cache can be found on the logs of selected caches on the Oran Park side of Camden Valley Way. This section of the series is still being completed.

The modern-day city of Khartoum is the capital of Sudan, on the African continent, and on the most recent census figures, has a population of approximately 13 million. Surprisingly, it was only established in 1821, and in that time has seen a number of bloody conflicts.

Another little known fact (well, I never knew it!!) is that although different in stature and build, and created earlier than the famed EGyptian pyramids, Sudan actually has more ancient pyramids than Egypt. There are around 2000 Kushite pyramids in upper Sudan, compared with 200 Egyptian pyramids.

However the reason for this cache has more to do with geography than history. It is intended as a cache whose story is linked to that of “Sauce of the Nile” (GCB2PFQ). This will (hopefully) make sense when reading the description for that cache.

Like that cache, reaching GZ is a bit of an adventure. The area is intended to be a wildlife corridor, a green refuge zone around the course of South Creek, in the middle of a suburban wildlife desert. (Kind of Nile-ish)

Sadly, the kangaroos that occasionally showed themselves even as recently as 2019 are no longer to be seen, but I have seen a snake a few years back. You may elect to do this cache in the cooler months … or if not, keep an eye open for more than just a cache (just as you would in any part of the Australian bush) And the hint is ... You're looking too high if you’re searching above knee height!

Laimelde grabs a 'twofa'! ?Hattie coming up?

SEARCHERS' NOTE ... 1. A safety gate has been placed at the entrance to this area. Please chain it closed after entering and leaving.  2. Once through the gate continue until the end of the fence on the left hand side. At this point step off the ramp onto the sandstone blocks, so that you are on the UPPER LEVEL of these blocks. No need to be in the water retention area.
