PRESIDENTIAL TRIVIA

  • Lincoln Logs are named after the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln and the log cabin where he was born. John Lloyd Wright, son of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, invented them.
  • John Adams, the 2nd US president and Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd US president, both died on the same day July 4, 1826.
  • During his presidency Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th president of the United States, was arrested for driving a horse and buggy too fast on a public road. It was his 2nd speeding violation that day. 

  • William Henry Harrison, the 9th US president, served the shortest term as president of the United States, lasting only 31 days in office before he died of pneumonia on April 4, 1841.
  • Until 1901, the White House was called the Executive Mansion. It was the 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt who nicknamed it the White House, and the name has stuck ever since.
