La cache fa parte della serie Produzioni ininterrotte, progetto di valorizzazione della memoria del lavoro che vi porterà ad immaginare storie del territorio bergamasco ormai scomparse (o quasi) che hanno lasciato delle tracce nascoste.
Un filo, non solo immaginario, unisce il passato e il presente di questo luogo. Siamo a Ponte Selva, frazione di Parre, paese adagiato a destra del fiume Serio su un vasto altopiano soleggiato in alta val Seriana. La zona dove sorge Parre era già abitata in età preistorica, invece Ponte Selva nasce solo alla fine dell’800: da allora il filo della storia si dipana fino a noi, portandoci a scoprire questo paesino nato a opera di una famiglia di imprenditori. Riannodiamo questo filo, fino al 18 novembre 1889: in questa data la ditta Fratelli Pozzi fu Pasquale, che produceva filati di cotone, acquistò gli stabili con la “Fucina Nuova” ( terreni con un mulino e i “diritti d’acqua” del fiume Serio) in località Ponte della Selva. Da quel giorno questi imprenditori iniziarono a plasmare il territorio creando dal nulla un vero e proprio paese: costruirono case per operai e impiegati, una chiesa, un convitto adattato poi a scuola, un asilo e, infine, oratorio.
Per quanto riguarda il cotonificio, sostituirono il sistema idraulico che era antiquato, e con il primo impianto che contava 6.300 fusi ring o ad anello e 130 operai, suddivisi in 35 uomini e 95 donne, partì la produzione di quel filo che tutt’oggi lega la famiglia Pozzi Electa, giunta alla quinta generazione, e Ponte Selva. Il cotonificio è tuttora attivo, anche se non in questo luogo: dagli anni novanta è stato costruito un altro stabilimento non lontano da qui, a Clusone, dove continua l’attività della Pozzi Electa.
Sulle curve della provinciale che sale a Clusone, potete ammirare 3 palazzine dipinte a righe, che erano le case costruite per gli operai, perfettamente conservate come erano un tempo. Come avete visto, non è solo immaginario il filo di questa storia, ma è un filo reale, che possiamo stringere tra le dita, per riannodare un passato che da lontano arriva fino a noi.

The past and present of this place are bonded by a thread that is not only imaginary. We are in Ponte Selva, a hamlet of Parre, a town located to the right of the Serio river on a wide sunny plateau in the upper Seriana valley.The area where Parre is located was populated since prehistoric times, whereas Ponte Selva was born at the end of the 19th century: since then the history of this place leads us to discover this small village founded by a family of entrepreneurs.We go back to november 1889, the 18th: in that date the cotton company owned by Pozzi brothers, purchased the buildings with the "Fucina Nuova" (a land with a mill and the "water rights" of the Serio river) in the Ponte della Selva area. Since then, the activities of the entrepreneurs created a whole new village starting from zero: they built houses for workers and employees, a church, a school, a kindergarten and, finally, an oratorio.They replaced the old hydraulic system with a new one, so the cotton mill became the first plant with 6,300 ring spindles and 130 workers, divided into 35 men and 95 women, starting the production of that thread which still binds Ponte Selva and the Pozzi Electa family, now in its fifth generation.
The cotton mill is still working, although not in this place: in the 90’s another factory was built not far from here, in Clusone, where Pozzi Electa continues its activity since then. Along the road that goes up to Clusone, you can admire 3 buildings painted in stripes, which were the houses built for the workers, perfectly preserved in the original shape. As you have seen, the thread of this story is not just imaginary, but it is a real thread, which we can grasp between our fingers, to reconnect a past that reaches us from afar.
