Midnattsoltrappa ble åpnet i 2023, og er en tretrapp med 2117 trinn. Enkelte partier er ganske bratt, men trappa har rekkverk hele veien. Underveis er det rasteplasser med fantastisk utsikt over Spansdalen og Lavangsfjorden.
Navnet har trappa fått fordi midnattsola til lyse på store deler av trappa, og ikke minst på toppen av Henrikkafossen, som er bare noen hundre meter unna trappas toppunkt.
Prosjektet ble finansiert av lokale lag og foreninger, i tillegg til at alle som ønsker det kan kjøpe seg et trinn i trappa, og får da en plakett med sin ønskede tekst på.
Like ved trappa er verdens nordligste Via Ferrata, som åpnet sommeren 2024.

Midnattsoltrappa, translated: "the midnight sun staircase" was opened in 2023, and is a wooden staircase with 2117 steps. Some parts are quite steep, but the stairs have railings all the way. Along the way, there are rest areas with fantastic views over Spansdalen and Lavangsfjorden.
The staircase got its name because the midnight sun illuminates large parts of the staircase, and not least at the top of Henrikkafossen, which is only a few hundred meters away from the top of the staircase.
The project was financed by local teams and associations, in addition to the fact that anyone who wants it can buy a step on the stairs, and then get a plaque with their desired text on it.
Just by the stairs is the world's northernmost Via Ferrata, which opened in the summer of 2024.
