Geocache Description:

Cache placed with the kind permission from the land owner.  Do not wander off past the cache area as a sawmill was once located nearby and the old foundation could be dangerous.  Plenty of parking area next to cache area in open lot.  Bring your own pen.  Take a pic of the mountains if you wish.  There is a dollar bill rolled up inside for the FTF.

Great profile view of the superstition mountains from this location.  Many stories and tale about the mountains.

The most famous legend is the search for the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.  Full of gold located somewhere in the mountains.  Many have searched for it but no one has found it.

Apache lore says that access to the “lower world” or underworld an be found in the Superstitions Mountains.  Winds from this dimension are said to cause severe dust storms in the Arizona desert.

Some believe that the mountains are home to the Little People, hairy-faced dwarfs who build houses in the rocks.
