Most of the trails in Alameda Park are multi-use trails. Mountain biking is very popular here and you will encounter fast moving bikes. The park office has assured me that runners and walkers/hikers are welcome also. If caching in a group, or with children please be alert for bikers. With the many twists and turns, a biker can come quickly around a bend and disaster strikes. The rider will be wearing a helmet, but you won't, just be careful.
PLEASE be courteous to other trail users. ALWAYS yield to trail runners and bicycles. They will be going faster then you, and it is easier for you to step to the side and let them pass, then for them to try and go around.
All of these caches are on multi use trails, but be safe and step off trail when a biker comes by.
The park office has given me special permission to place all of these hides and I have given them a map where caches are hidden. If the park receives to many complaints about cacher's interferring with other user's, of these trails, they will force me to remove them.
All caches in this series are meant to be found with the hint. Even though caches are either 35mm or preforms (test tubes) there is no reason to tear apart any logs when searching. Please don't re-hide cache containers more difficult then when, you found them.
*** Only park in designated parking lots. Do not park along roads or in the grass and do not block any gates. ***
Caches are numbered, in the order I hid them. Cache number 01 was hidden by itself and then I thought maybe I should go to the office and check for permission. Second trip #02 - #06; Third trip #07 - #14; Fourth trip #15 - #31; Fifth trip #32 - #38. Numbers 39 and 40, TBD.
OBEY all signage while on park trails.
DO NOT go past any signs marked for mountain bikes ONLY.
DO NOT go the wrong way on trails marked DO NOT ENTER and EXIT ONLY!!!
Remember, bikers ALWAYS have the right of way.
