Suzhou Creek (苏州河, or Soochow Creek), aka Wusong River, is a river that passes through the Shanghai city center. It is named after the neighboring city of Suzhou (Soochow). One of the principal outlets of Lake Tai, the Suzhou Creek is 125km long and flows into the Huangpu River at the Bund. The Suzhou Creek Waterfront Public Space (苏州河滨水公共空间) project was basically completed by the end of 2020. After renovation, the 42km shoreline along the Suzhou Creek in the central urban area has been opened to the public, providing space for public activities such as sightseeing, cultural communication, sports and fitness, leisure and entertainment.
Kaixuan Road Bridge and Metro Line 3 Bridge stand side by side, spanning the Suzhou Creek. Originally built in 1915 as the Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway Bridge, it was later reconstructed and renamed after the surrounding road, Kaixuan Road. It features a steam locomotive at its base, commemorating its past as the original site of the Shanghai West Station. The bridge has witnessed significant historical events, including the Battle of Shanghai during World War II, and stands as a symbol of the city's transportation and industrial evolution.

The GZ is under the North side of Kaixuan Road Bridge.
