George Brown Botanic Gardens
Darwin's botanic gardens are home to hundreds of different species of tropical plants. It is situated in the heart of Darwin and is a popular place to visit for both tourists and locals. From being just a test plantation at first to surviving severe damage caused by Cyclone Tracy, the gardens have been constantly changing since they were established in 1886. Today they have a lovely community garden, new visitor centre and the oldest building in Darwin, known as Eva's Cafe.
Parking is only available during opening times, but you can also get there by bike or bus (via bus line number 4). Entry is free, so be sure to explore the gardens a bit and vist the cafe.
