As the name suggest, located on the east bank of the Huangpu River, the East Bund (东岸) is the collective name for the riverside public spaces in Pudong, such as Lujiazui, Dongchang, Laobaidu and so on. It is connected by a walking route, a jogging track, and a cycling track. Greenery, platforms, viewing points and service centers are also arranged along the East Bund. It is a good place for residents and tourists to relax and have fun.
The original site of Yangjing Waterfront (洋泾滨江绿地) was first built in 1907 as a petroleum depot. It used to be an important site for oil storage and transportation on the east side of the Huangpu River. Nowadays Yangjing Waterfront is connected to the adjacent waterfront space by a special bridge, garden bridge, which integrates tracks, green spaces, buildings and river landscapes. Actually, twelve garden bridges have been built to link the waterfront spaces along the East Bund. They serve the public not only as low-speed pathways, but also as landmarks in the East Bund landscape.

The GZ is the black stairs connecting the garden bridge to the waterfront platform. The magnetic cache (a 5cm tube) is attached to the underside of the top stair.
