Welcome to the fifth in a ongoing series aimed at celebrating some of the everyday individuals laid to rest here. Each event will spotlight one of the 125,000 residents and we'll be sharing some of their life history with you.

What to expect
For our Fifth event we'll take a look at an innocent victim of a global conflict.
Take a glimpse into the life of Betty Pope (1936 - 1942) - A life cut short.
Please note : This event will include a poignant account of a WWII bombing raid and the loss of a young life which some attendees may find distressing.
Simply mark your attendance and join us on the day and gather at the posted co-ordinates at the allotted time, please note there will not be a log book or trackable drop off point at this event. Feel free to bring your own refreshments if you’d like to enjoy tea and biscuits during the session.
Important Notes
- Children are warmly welcome but must be supervised at all times.
- Dogs are not permitted within the cemetery grounds, except for registered assistance dogs.
- Please remember that York Cemetery is a working cemetery. We kindly ask all visitors to act respectfully while on site.
