28 February 1904, While onboard the USS Supply the eighth day after departing from Honolulu where the ship was re-coaled three crew observed three objects "rather bright red" color with geometrical formation flight pattern "in-line" and "echelon"; the objects changed course and flightpath changed from the observed horizontal to angularly upwards. The duration of reported event was stated as 2 minutes plus. The reporting officer who received the accounts stated all three accounts concurred. The ship docked in San Francisco on March 1 1904
