Geocache Description:

Burdock is a non-native species growing in abundance along the Swartz Creek in the city of Swartz Creek's Abram's Park.
The purpose of this CITO will be to not only pick up trash & refuse throughout the 11 acre park focusing along the creek, but also to pull this non-native, invasive species, Burdock.  Any geocacher who has spent any amount of time bushwhacking can probably identify it, but I will post YouTube videos in a Note Log or an Announcement Log before the event so be watching for that. Additionally, I'll gather event attendees along the creek at the beginning of the event to identify this invasive species before we start pulling it. If the ground remains damp & soft it will be easier to pull, but if you have root diggers or spades/shovels, it might be helpful if you brought them. It is very important to make sure the seeds pods/burrs are collected in the leaf bags & not allowed to scatter on the ground.
The City of Swartz Creek has provided lawn/leaf bags as well as trash bags & I will have extra gloves on hand.

Thank you in advance for your help with this project! I sit on the Board of Directors with the Friends of Abram's Park non-profit organization (as Vice President) & this will be a multi-group/community effort.
