Welcome to the "Going for Gold" Event Series (Now with an updated cache page). Apart from geocaching one of my major hobbies is Archery (a.k.a advanced stick throwing) and I am now competing in tournaments and competitions. Because of the need to travel around the place and it already being a day out I thought to also hold an event after as a bit of fun.
Where:
The location for this event is at the park/playground out front of Morea Community Hall. The location is across the road from Randwick Archery Club, which is where the shoot is taking place.
When:
4:30pm - 5:00pm (16:30-17:00).
This time has been set to hopefully be about 30mins after the end of shooting but if I am late or not able to attend I am sorry and hope attendees have a good talk.
The timetable for the competition is as follows:
2:00pm - Bow inspection
2:30pm - Shooting commences.
The Round:
The round that will be shot is called a Burton. This round consists of 30 arrows shot at each of three distances: 55m, 46m, and 37m, on a 122cm face for a total possible score of 900 (but I aint that good)
The Going for Gold Gimmick:
I normally dont do special things for events but for this series Im doing something different. When you sign the logsheet you will be given the oppurtunity to put a number next to your name. This number will be your guess for score I achieved at the tournament (Max score is 900 over 90 arrows). The closest to the number will get a sweet treat (or a small prize if I have one).
P.S This all depends on if I have anything or get my score
FTFs:
There will be no FTFs for these events.
