[PT] Esta cache tem como objetivo promover os Baldios de Vilarinho.
Bem-vindo ao Aceiro do Estoirão (Avelale), uma importante infraestrutura para a proteção da floresta dos baldios e para todas as outras confrontantes. Todo este aceiro estende-se no meio dos Baldios de Vilarinho, possui uma largura média de 20 metros, formando uma verdadeira barreira natural contra a propagação de incêndios florestais. Não fosse este tipo de aceiros uma interrupção à continuidade da vegetação, que funciona como combustível para os incêndios, e que cria uma barreira natural, com o objetivo de impedir o avanço das chamas – corta-fogo.
Com esta eliminação da vegetação, não só se pode retardar o avanço das chamas, como também se facilita o acesso de equipamentos e equipas de atuação da proteção civil, como os bombeiros e os sapadores florestais, em situações de risco. Esta infraestrutura está alinhada com as diretrizes das entidades governamentias da floresta portuguesa e da legislação nacional, em matéria de defesa da floresta contra incêndios.

[EN] The aim of this cache is to promote the Baldios de Vilarinho.
Welcome to the Aceiro do Estoirão (Avelale), an important infrastructure for protecting the forest of the Baldios and all the other neighbouring forests. This whole firebreak stretches through the middle of the Vilarinho wasteland and has an average width of 20 metres, forming a real natural barrier against the spread of forest fires. Were it not for the fact that this type of firebreak interrupts the continuity of vegetation, which acts as fuel for fires, and creates a natural barrier with the aim of preventing the advance of flames - a firebreak.
This elimination of vegetation not only slows down the advance of the flames, but also facilitates access for civil protection equipment and teams, such as firefighters and forestry sappers, in situations of risk. This infrastructure is in line with government entities of the portuguese forest guidelines and national legislation on forest fire defence.
As you explore this space and search for the cache, remember to respect the environment, stay on the path that has been marked out for safe and leisurely movement, as this type of firebreak is restricted to authorised vehicles, so as not to degrade the soil, increase erosion and, consequently, compromise its purpose as a firebreak, jeopardising its effectiveness in containing fires.
