Green Valley Park in Payson, Arizona, a 43-acre park known as the "Jewel of Payson," began as a water reclamation project in 1993, completed in 1996, and is a joint venture between the Town of Payson and the Northern Gila County Sanitary District.
The park's lakes are designed to recharge the town's water table through passive percolation of treated effluent, which also serves as a means of distribution and storage for reclaimed water reuse.
In addition to water conservation, the park serves as a focal point for community activities and park amenities, including walking paths, picnic areas, boating and fishing facilities, and the Rim Country Historical Museum and Zane Grey Cabin.
