2nd Annual Kuna Cave CITO Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

Green Achers: Event was a success and I think everyone did an excellent job. The big challenge was from the ranch to the North that released all it’s cow pond (a frequent activity) the night before, cutting off our access to the cave. Luckily, the all wheel trucks were able to get through.

We collectively removed a couple large trash cans of debris, a pallet that was going to be burned in the cave (not a smart thing to do), and countless nails about the access. My hat off to all the volunteers!

Geocache Description:

10 May 2025, 09:00 - 10:30 am

One of the most unique CITO's in Geocaching History. We're going down under again!

That's right, down into the Kuna Cave to clean up the trash. This isn't going to be easy, as the trash is spread from one end to the other. Let's get together and spend an hours gathering the trash in the cave and hauling it out. If you haven't logged the Kuna Cave cache, this will be your opportunity.

  • Everyone going down for this CITO will be required to check in and check out. We don't want to leave anyone behind.
  • Bring your own lighting. I recommend head lamps, so you can keep your hands free.
  • Wear appropriate clothing. It's dusty in the cave and crawling is required to get into the depths. You will get dusty!
  • Gloves, knee pads, elbow pads, and bump caps, are all highly recommended, but not required. BYO
  • I'll provide the trashbags and dispose of everything properly.
  • Kids? Maybe not the best place to bring your kids during this CITO. No baby sitters provided.
  • Practice Dust Control! No sweeping up dust in, nor near the cave during the CITO.
  • Enter at your own risk. No one is responsible for your safety other than yourself. Do not take risks.
  • We will lift and lower trash and gear via rope. Please use this service throughout the CITO, so you can keep your hands free on the ladder.

At the end of the event, the logsheet will verify that everyone is out.

If everyone is not accounted for, a whistle will be taken down into the cave and blown.

Anyone hearing the whistle during this CITO, will end the CITO, calmly return to the surface.

FOR ANYONE NOT INTERESTED IN INTO THE CAVE, THERE IS TRASH AROUND THE GENERAL PROPERTY THAT CAN BE COLLECTED. EVEN KIDS CAN DO THAT PART WITH YOU.

Don't be surprised, but at the end of the cave clean out...  there will be a surprise/reward!
