Big things are happening in the geocaching community in 2025! What better way to give back to your community than by attending a Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) Event?

South Jersey Geocachers have traditionally attended CITO events to help clean up the gameboard that we all play on.
In addition, all geocaching participants will receive the 2025 CITO Season 1 digital souvenir when posting their Attended log.
This event has us joining the staff and volunteers of the organization Clean Ocean Action to collect trash on the beach around S. Albany Avenue. This organization has scheduled over 80 beach sweeps up and down the Jersey shore today from 11 am to 1 pm. This is also the 40th year that they have done these.
All attendees are asked to register at www.cleanoceanaction.org to participate. Please select Boardwalk / S. Albany Avenue as the location near the end of the registration. They will provide garbage bags but ask that participants bring their own gloves, trash grabbers and buckets. Closed toe shoes are also recommended. Please be aware of any hazardous items that you may encounter, including broken glass, needles, etc. If you do not feel comfortable picking those items up, please just notify someone who can safely remove it.
We intend to clean up trash until about 12:30 and then gather for a hot cup of coffee and a treat at the waypoint provided on this page.
