I've always loved elephant paths (also known as desire paths or desire lines). I have a series of caches hidden near them in Aberdeen, up in Scotland, but since we now also live in Sheffield, I've started looking out for them here too. They seem to be much rarer here, but I've found enough to make a nice Yorkshire version of the series :)
This elephant trail is established enough that it's been listed on google, and somebody has walked down it with a streetview camera, evne though it very cleary is not an 'official' trail (evidenced by the fact that this one has a drop off a wall at the end, and the path next to it ends in a wall that you need to step over).
You can park in the Decathlon car park, but you need to go inside and register your license plate. Another options is Arley Street (pay&display) on the other side of St Mary's gate (from where you can also get Elephant Path #3!).
PS: take note of the colour of/in the container, it might come in handy in future...!
