The Davis Log House is believed to have been built in the early 1800s, the cabin likely served as a home for members of the Davis family. From the 1930s until its removal in 2011, it was repurposed as a storage space for farm produce.
In January 2011, Craig Davis generously donated the cabin to the Burrell Township Historical Society. Determined to save this piece of history, Arnold Blystone, James Hileman, and a team of dedicated volunteers dismantled the structure, marking each log and stone for future reconstruction.
The restoration began in 2012, featuring a new roof and windows, and was completed in 2016—just in time for the annual September Fall Festival at the Burrell Township Fire Hall.
This incredible effort ensured that the log house remains a cherished part of the community, preserving not only its structure but the rich history it represents.
