I noticed a shortage of caches in my lovely neighborhood so here is the first in hopefully several caches highlighting the wonderful Kips Bay/Murray Hill area, starting off with the beautiful St. Vartan's park.
Living in NYC is a busy life, with endless adventures to be had. It's important to take time for yourself to rest and reflect on the wonders around you. For this geocache, I chose a lovely spot to stroll around, take a seat surrounded by nature, and get lost in a good read. Consider yourself fully booked for the day.
The cache can fit one or two small trackables and other fun items for trade.
A little about St Vartans park:
The park is named for the St. Vartan Cathedral of the Armenian Orthodox Church in America. Vartan was an Armenian who lived during the fourth century, remembered for his martyrdom at the Battle of Avarayr in 451AD between Armenian and Iranian forces in present-day Albania. The park recently underwent renovations to upgrade to a fully accessible enhanced garden entrance and new pathway, and is located near the east river ferry station at 34th Street.
